The Board of Trustees for HCS Phase II is asking your support in petitioning the Township of Toms River to make a much-needed change to ensure the safety of all Phase I and Phase II residents. We propose that the STOP signs at the intersection of Mt. Carmel Blvd. and Yorktowne Blvd. be changed, so that drivers on Yorktowne Blvd. will be required to stop, and those on Mt. Carmel Blvd. will have the right-of-way. There have been countless accidents at this corner, mostly due to the bends in the road on Yorktowne Blvd. on either side of Mt. Carmel Blvd. Also, requiring drivers heading west on Yorktowne Blvd. to stop at Mt. Carmel Blvd. will alleviate the over-abundance of speeding, especially by those non-residents who are just 'cutting through'.
