Stop Cambridge’s busiest cycle route becoming a Busway.
Stop Cambridge’s busiest cycle route becoming a Busway.
Why this petition matters
The busiest cycle route in Cambridge, used by thousands of cyclists every day, is in danger of becoming a Busway.
Adams Road links the city centre with the West Cambridge site and provides a fast connection for thousands of cyclists and pedestrians.
The road is only eight metres wide but up to 30 buses an hour will use it, plus the cars that already do. There will be no bike lanes and the GCP can’t guarantee the buses will be electric.
An entirely segregated route, which would have left cyclists unaffected, was originally chosen, but now the planners are having second thoughts.
Please sign our petition to tell them what you think about mixing up to 22,000 bicycles a week with buses.
Please show decision makers that you are against such a plan and add your name to this petition.
