Puget Sound Energy (PSE) continues to push a dangerous fracked gas refinery that threatens the health and safety of the Puyallup Tribe and all Tacoma residents, especially targeting Indigenous, Brown, and Black people. The Tribe is steadfast in their opposition to PSE’s refinery and our community continues to fight alongside them.
The Puyallup Tribe has appealed a key air permit with the Washington Pollution Control Hearings Board. EarthJustice, along with Advocates for a Cleaner Tacoma, Sierra Club, Stand.earth, Washington Environmental Council, and Washington Physicians for Social Responsibility have also filed an Appeal. The Washington Attorney General has joined the Appeal with a powerful Amicus Brief.
On Monday, April 12, PSE’s fracked gas LNG will finally be tried in a Court of Law.
Even before the Court will rule on the Appeals, PSE is pushing to start operations on May 1st.
PSE’s flagrant disregard for human health and safety is again on full display!
