We are asking for your support to get the Hawai‘i Surf Team to the 2024 Summer Olympics. 

We thank the International Surfing Association (ISA), surfing's governing body, for pushing to get surfing in the Olympic Games. In the process of the ISA's Olympic endeavor however, a Hawai‘i Surf Team was not allowed to compete at the ISA World Games and the Olympic Games. Historically, Hawaiian surfers have always competed under the Hawaiian flag in professional and amateur surf competitions.

The surfing portion of the 2024 Olympic Games – hosted by France – is tentatively scheduled to take place in Tahiti, a place viewed by many as the ancestral home of Native Hawaiians. The global surfing community and Native Hawaiians share the same origin, ancestors, culture and mother tongue. Hawai‘i is the birthplace of “he‘enalu” and has evolved into the sport of surfing. 

We believe that everyone has the right to contribute to building a peaceful and better world through sport practiced without discrimination of any kind. We believe that the presence of a Hawai‘i Surf Team at the 2024 Summer Olympics will celebrate the ancestors of surfing while also elevating the future of our sport.
