Just like the movies, all it takes is that first idea. An idea for a bold and radical future. From that, a screenplay is born, storyboards are created, locations scouted, sets built, actors cast, cameras tested, wardrobes stitched. Then… “Lights, Camera, Action!” and, as they say up on the silver screen, the rest is celluloid history.

It’s that history we’re fighting to preserve, that bold and daring creativity we’re striving to support and flourish. If we don’t keep hold on our history, one day we’ll look around and all our historical artifacts will be gone. There will be nothing tangible left in reality connected to the people and periods that came before.

It’s one thing to read about it in a book, quite another to experience it in real life. To actually touch it and not just think about it conceptually. We have an obligation not only to ourselves in the present, but to every future generation that comes after us to keep our history and artistic legacy alive and well.
