Why this petition matters

Started by Laine Faustina

30 year old Filipino-American, Angelo Quinto, was murdered by Antioch police in his own home in front of his own family after his sister had called the police in hopes for the Navy Veteran to get the proper help during a “mental crisis”. Angelo was in the arms of his mother until the police pulled him away and pushed him on the floor while Angel begged, “Please don’t kill me! Please don’t kill me!”What was initially a “mental health help” call, quickly turned into a similar situation to that of George Floyd’s murder. The police officer had put his knee of the back of Angelo’s neck, suffocating him to death.

This happened ONE MONTH ago, and only NOW has the news been put out about Angelo’s death. I’m tired of this corrupt justice system and I’m fed up with how my fellow Asian Americans are being treated in this country. As a Filipino American, I am just appalled and heartbroken after hearing about what happened to Angelo Quinto. It is unjust, unfair, cruel, and needs to be stopped.
