Trans discriminatory group LGB Alliance: revoke their charity status
Why this petition matters
The LGB Alliance has now been recognised in England and Wales as a registered charity by the Charity Commission.
By its very existence as a trans-exclusionary body, the LGB Alliance throws up some serious issues by forwarding an agenda that discriminates against trans people from within our own community. Basically saying 'we support you if you are gay or bi, but not if you are trans'.
They do NOT speak for the LGBTQI+ community at large. Simply by exclusion, they are discriminating. They should NOT hold a charitable status.
They are a minority...but the coverage they’re garnering under the guise of ‘of course we’re not prejudiced, we’re gay’ is frightening.
Now they have been given official charitable status, it sends a dangerous precedent that it’s okay to financially support an organisation that excludes the fundamental rights of trans and non-binary people at a time when they are the most vulnerable.
How is it right to further isolate a minority already in danger of the worst possible crimes? How must it feel to receive that discrimination from their own community who are the ones who are supposed to empathise?
As a COMMUNITY we have to fight this action and say that it’s not okay. Respect ALL queer identities, or you respect NONE.
