Most of the well established democracies like USA, UK are electing  their leaders through paper ballot. India is using Electronic Voting Machines for the Job. There are lot of doubts about the performance of these machines and also voters are not confident about these  machines. Replacing these machines with paper ballot may be a cumbersome task as General Elections 2019 has already started. At least counting 50% of  the VVPAT ( Voter verifiable paper audit trail ) will give the confidence among Indian Voters about the election.
