Rename the Riverside Stand - Tony Parkes' Stand at Ewood Park
Why this petition matters
It is hard to imagine that there will ever be a point in the future where Rover's fans are not aware of the incredible impact that one man had on their club and the purpose of this petition is to ensure that noone ever forgets the name of the greatest servant Blackburn Rovers ever had.
Tony Parkes first joined us in 1970 and went on to play 350 games, scoring 38 goals before retiring in 1982.
When fans think of Tony two contrasting images always come to mind - first that of success, being a big part of the Premier League and Worthington Cup victories. Secondly, that of the reliable savior of the club...coming in to save the day when hope was lost.
Tony was never interested in the fame and fortune. He did what he did for the love of Blackburn Rovers and for the game he loves.
After his recent diagnosis, we want to show him just how much he means to the fan base and would love for the club to officially rename the Riverside Stand as the Tony Parkes stand. By signing this petition, you are showing the club that you as a fan support this decision to honour a club legend.
