The proposed development that Newcastle Borough Council are planning to build on the old Keele Golf Course and the surrounding green belt will devastate the local area. 

The council are proposing to build over 1200 homes, a small business park, commercial area. 

This development will totally destroy the already full village of Silverdale and Keele. There has been no public consultation for the residents of Silverdale and Keele to oppose these plans. 

Keele University is in favour of this as they believe it will benefit their failed attempt at expanding the campus further down towards Keele bank.

The amenities in the local area are already at breaking point and simply cannot cope with this expansion. The local roads are already too busy and this will simply cause gridlock in and around the Keele area, which will result in motorists using Silverdale as a rat run. 

This development will see the end of 2 distinct villages that have been in existence for hundreds of years, the whole area will become one big urban conurbation with the destruction of the local countryside.
