We as Publicise The Pad, would like to create awareness of the lack of accessibility of sanitary pads for women. We believe that it is a woman’s right to have access to a sanitary pad and is a crucial need. Many women in South Africa live in poverty and can not afford the costs of pads. The costs of pads portray it as a luxurious product, when it is highly essential. Patriarchal systems still exist in different forms and we hope that this movement will influence and change the conscious of many. We strive towards a conscious that entices gender equality. Women that can not afford pads face health risks and have to abstain from various activities.
