Distinguished Nobel Peace Prize Committee,

We hereby express our deep gratitude and appreciation to the Norwegian Amnesty International and to the members of the Norwegian Parliament, in particular to Ms. Karin Andersen and Ms. Kari-Elisabeth Kaski, for their Nobel peace Prize nomination of Ms. Narges Mohammadi.

Narges Mohammadi, a human rights activist, is the vice president of the Defenders of Human Rights Association, the Chair of the executive board of the Peace Council of Iran, and a member of the "Step-by-Step Abolition of Execution" campaign.  She has spent more than 8 years in prison, as a prisoner of conscience and was released from prison in October 2020.  Ms. Narges Mohammadi's courage, resilience, and sense of responsibility in exposing crimes and systematic violations of human rights in Iran and her sincerity have been commendable and inspiring.  After her prison release, she has remained one of the most outspoken critics of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

We sign our letter in support of this nomination and ask that you vote to award Ms. Narges Mohammadi the Nobel Peace Prize.

ما امضاء کنندگان این نامه مراتب سپاس و قدردانی عمیق خود را از سازمان عفوبین الملل نروژ و نمایندگان پارلمان این کشور، علل الخصوص خانم ها کارین اندرسون و کاری الیزابت کاسکی ،برای کاندیدا نمودن خانم نرگس محمدی برای دریافت جایزه صلح نوبل اعلام میداریم.

نرگس محمدی فعال حقوق بشر، نایب رئیس کانون مدافعان حقوق بشر، رئیس هیئت اجرایی شورای صلح ایران و یکی از اعضای کارزار " لغو گام به گام اعدام"  است. ایشان بیش از 8 سال درحبس به سر برده و در روز 17 مهرماه 1399 از زندان آزاد شد . شجاعت و ایستادگی خانم نرگس محمدی و احساس مسئولیت ایشان در قبال اشکار ساختن جنایات، نقض سیستماتیک حقوق بشر و بیان حقیقت ستودنی و الهام بخش بوده است. وی پس از آزادی نیز یکی از صریح ترین منتقدان حکومت جمهوری اسلامی میباشد.
