Mudgee's Regent Theatre is now on the NSW State Heritage Register, after being under protection by an Interim Heritage Order. The Regent Theatre is a rare and intact example of an Art Deco Theatre and one of Mudgee’s treasures.

The Regent Theatre was for sale in February 2020 however the auction was cancelled at the last minute. Previous sale link here. 

We, the under signed, request that Mid-Western Regional Council purchase the building and create a plan to restore the theatre for use as a multi-purpose venue.

The awaiting sale information is pending, since Blue Douglas Pty Ltd has gone into liquidation in May 2020. We urge Council to act with immediacy to secure The Regent Theatre as part of their property portfolio.

We believe there is a strong community need for the theatre to remain intact for its original purpose; to provide a space for live performance and entertainment and to attract tourists to our Region.
