Why this petition matters

Started by Turkish American Cultural Association of Washington

This petition is to get attention of Turkish Airlines about the high demand for a direct flight route between Istanbul and Seattle.

We would like to assure Turkish Airlines that Seattle community would love to be part of the Turkish Airlines large network of 120 countries and 300 cities around the world.

IST – SEA route will not be only celebrated among Turkish Americans, but also among communities originating from Eastern and South Eastern Europe (Balkan and Caucasus areas), Central Asia, Middle East and Persian Gulf, South Western and Southern Asia, North Africa, Northeast(Ethiopia, Eritrea, Sudan, South Sudan, Djibouti, Somalia, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Zanzibar ) and Central Africa. THY as a key Star Alliance partner has a great network and connecting flights reaching all these regions. THY’s excellent service and competitive pricing will certainly attract connecting travelers.

Employees of major companies headquartered or have a large presence in Seattle (Amazon, Microsoft, Boeing, Starbucks, Nordstrom, Costco, Google, Facebook, biomedicals, etc),  and international students of University of Washington, WASU, University of Seattle, Central WA, Portland State universities as well as Bellevue, Seattle Central community colleges descending from those regional communities are potential travelers.

Through this petition, we are requesting Turkish Airlines to start non-stop flights between Istanbul and Seattle. We believe that this route will be in high demand and a lucrative opportunity for THY for the aforementioned reasons.

Thank you for your consideration,

Turkish American Cultural Association of Washington and all signees
