Why this petition matters

Started by Kevin Mathew

Despite rising corona cases in the state of Kerala MG University has decided to conduct exams. Most colleges has not even completed the syllabus fully especially labs, even though many colleges tried to combat this through online classes it resulted in failure as most students rely on cheap mobile data plans which fluctuate through out the day not providing a constant speed which is required for video conferencing. There are areas in where mobile network coveragehave not been established. Also some students have only one phone in their family which is taken by their parent for work. Transportation(especially private) is not fully established especially in remote areas, as buses can only accomodate a limited number of passengers which is not feasible for bus owners in terms of profit.

MG University's sole aim is just to conduct an exam.Whether students learned something or not is none of their concern. This goes against the main aim of education which is to impart knowledge. Doing this is not something Mahatma Gandhi would support, this will just bear shame to us students who are studying in a university whose name is greatly respected and valued among Indians.

Dear students Mahatma Gandhi himself  wouldn support such an action. We also should not allow this to happen. This decision is an injustice to education.
