Please help me keep aerial dance a performing art and not an exercise class.  The State of Virginia considers my performing arts studio a "Health Club" and the apparatus (Silk fabric, Lyra, Dance trapeze, Vertical pole, Cube etc ) to be exercise machines / devices.  We teach dance with props just like gymnasts, rhythmic gymnasts, circus performers, tap or ballet dancers.  We do not sell memberships, dues or initiation fees. The State is requiring businesses that use this type of equipment to register as Health Club and pay hundreds of dollars a year pursuant to the Virginia Health Club Act.  Here is the link to my website and  video of the dance we teach, our latest performance for charity.
