WARNING: MEMBERS OF MINORITY GROUPS ARE TARGETED BY WHITE SUPREMACISTS IN LAW ENFORCEMENT!

In the wake of the historical trial for George Floyd's egregious death, HR7120 George Floyd Police Reform Act, increased police brutality, and the infiltration of white supremacists in law enforcement as well as the domestic terrorist attacks on our Nation’s Capitol, Texas Cops and Communities, Inc. is calling on Americans to sign this petition supporting the following recommendations to begin the deliberate process of re-imaging law enforcement because a house divided can't stand, and we must clean the house before we restore order in policing agencies across our country.

We proudly join police officers in Houston, black police officers in Chicago, and the police officers at our Nation’s Capitol who are exposing systemic racism in law enforcement as well as lawmakers who are strongly advocating for real police reform that will not only change the narrative but also the foundation for which we build the entry door to America's justice systems and not the exit door to the graveyard.

Additionally, the details of the FBI’s latest report, released in an article on March 8, 2021, shows an imminent threat to members of minority groups, which makes traffic stops and other police encounters more dangerous than ever before. The report shows members of minority groups are targeted and states:

White Supremacists 'seek affiliation' with the military and law enforcement to further their goals.  Racially motivated extremists want to develop new tactics the document says. In some cases, they wanted to join the military or police so they would be able to commit acts of violence toward members of minority groups. In others, they planned to join the military or police to learn how to wage war against members of those minority groups.

Therefore, we officially launched our White Supremacists in Law Enforcement Gotta Go National Petition on March 11, 2021 during our press conference in George Floyd’s hometown in Houston, Texas, directly in the front of a neighborhood store he frequented, which now boldly displays a mural commemorating his life and memorializing his egregious death.

In light of the House passing HR7120 George Floyd Police Reform Act that would ban chokeholds, no-knock warrants, and alter so-called qualified immunity for law enforcement, which would make it easier to pursue claims of police misconduct, we still need one more critical mandate to fully restore the trust and confidence in law enforcement.

Therefore, we are calling on communities across the country, starting in Houston, to urge President Joe Biden and lawmakers to:

  1. take swift and deliberate actions that will prohibit white supremacists from joining law enforcement, similarly to what the military is already doing as well as prohibit law enforcement agencies from retaliating against good cops who report police misconduct as was in the cases with former Houston police officer Katherine Swilley, former Buffalo (NY) police officer Cariol Horne, and other officers who spoke out regarding their fellow officers’ misconduct;
  2. create and maintain a national database of police officers who have been identified as White Supremacists or have close ties to the Ku Klux Klan, Skinheads, Neo-Nazis, and any other violent racist hate groups and have been purged to prevent inter-agency infiltration; and
  3. halt federal funding from the Department of Justice, Community Oriented Policing Services ('COPS') program to any law enforcement agency that violates the federal mandate prohibiting the hiring/retaining of police officers who are White Supremacists or have close ties to the Ku Klux Klan, Skinheads, Neo-Nazis, and any other violent racist hate groups who are a threat to national security and an imminent threat to minority groups.

There is an increasing number of violent attacks and deadly use of force against our black and brown brothers and sisters, as was in the case of George Floyd and too many others, especially after former President Trump promoted an aggressive response from police towards suspects in their custody, following the death of Freddie Gray, a Baltimore African American man, after his head violently struck a bolt inside a police transport van.

  • When you guys put somebody in the car and you’re protecting their head, you know, the way you put their hand over? Like, don’t hit their head, and they just killed somebody — don’t hit their head. I said, you can take the hand away, OK,” said Former President Donald John Trump in a speech he delivered to police officers in Long Island, NY (2017).

Sadly, so many of these cops believe they are fighting a war in African American and Latinos neighborhoods. Some officers, like those in the George Floyd case in the Minneapolis Police Department, attended Killology aka Warrior Training, Urban Warfare, and/or Fear Based Training, which teach police officers how to kill.

  • We believe our police officers need to be equipped to respond to severely difficult situations, but we do NOT need modern-day Rambo’s with a white supremacist agenda or extremist ideologies free to patrol our streets with a badge ready to kill.” said Noel A. Pinnock, President/CEO of Texas Cops and Communities, Inc.

For years minority officers have complained and reported that their agencies ignored racism and excessive force and unjustified violence against citizens, and that they were retaliated against, terminated, and forced out of law enforcement and issued an erroneous dishonorable discharge after complaining of discriminatory practices and police misconduct.

We must face it, our country, and African Americans and Latinos neighborhoods as well as our children are under attack by domestic terrorists wearing a badge and what occurred at our Nation’s Capitol, the deaths of George Floyd and Navy veteran, 30-year-old, Angelo Quinto, who lost consciousness and later died after a northern California cop put his knee on his neck for over five minutes during a mental health crisis dispatch call are just the tip of the iceberg.

Again, this national petition speaks for the victims that have died as a result of police deadly encounters whose souls cry out from the grave because they cannot scream from the podium for justice!

While there have been some successes in criminal justice reform, the existence of white supremacists in police departments hampers that success. The system can never achieve its purposed goal of fairness while White Supremacists continue to [hide] within police departments. Of course, people of color experience racism by police officers, both implicit and explicit. (Lewis & Clark Law Review)
