The Female of the Species is a novel by Mindy McGinnis that follows the story of Alex Craft and is told from three perspectives—Alex’s, her best friend Peekay’s, and her love interest Jack’s. This book spans so many important topics including, but not limited to, rape culture, friendship, murder, and love.

The story is beautifully written and gives us so many characters who are so complex and realistic that we can’t help but love. It would be amazing to see it brought to life in the form of a TV series—or a movie, even—in order to reach a broader audience.

I truly feel that seeing this story as a television series or movie would be very impactful in people’s lives, even more than the book has already managed to do in so many others’. The Female of the Species is an incredible story, and one you will not soon forget—especially if we get to see it come to life.
