We are saddened with the passing away of beloved brother and African internet pioneer, Tarek Kamel. 
 
Our condolences to Tarek’s family and friends 
 
We lost an Elder
 
Tarek was a pillar in the technical, policy and diplomatic development of internet in Africa. He was a towering leader and always there for the African internet technical community in its determination to be part of Internet
 
And he was there for us till the end and what he taught us in commitment and determination will live on in our community
