Release of inmate Devan D. Evans with high risk due to COVID-19
Why this petition matters
Devan D. Evans #16521-028 is currently incarcerated in FMC Lexington, KY. He is at high risk for catching the COVID-19 disease due to his health and extreme asthma problems. Because they are not practicing social distancing nor are the taking the precautions to keep these inmates safe. I am asking for people to sign this petition in favor to let Devan D. Evans out of incarceration and into home detention for the remainder of his sentence.
Under the Care Act A.G. Barr's directive to the bureau of prisons, he is not only eligible for home confinement, but one of the people A.G. Barr issued another directive on April 3, 2020 directing that people like Devan be considered at FMC Lexington. The case managers are telling prisoners if they are not housed in the hospice unit or health care unit they are not eligible for consideration this contention is false and is a ploy by case managers and the administration at the Federal Medical Center-Lexington because of laziness, and not wanting to do the paperwork at the prison level.
They have been issued one mask per inmate to keep and must wear at all times, making it harder for his breathing conditions, and not practicing social distancing whatsoever.
Please sign this petition to allow him to come home and serve his time in the safety of his own home with his family.
