The Petersen Pool Advocates is comprised of Braintree High School Swim and Dive Team athletes, their families, friends and concerned citizens who are opposed to the Town of Braintree's poor planning involved in the construction of the Petersen Memorial Pool and wasteful spending of Captain Petersen's Trust fund monies for the building of the pool.

        Despite 6 years of media announcements, renegade developers, and over $1.5 Million in extravagant spending from the restricted Petersen Trust Fund, the Town of Braintree has never insisted on complete site, exterior/interior design plans, financing and building permits secured as a prerequisite for authorization to excavate the building site at Braintree High School. As a result, the Petersen Pool project has never been a serious construction project with complete design plans, competent developers and secure financing. Currently, all we have at the Braintree High School campus building site is muddy lagoons and hay-filled sinkholes. The people of Braintree deserve better!

       The Petersen Pool Advocates are asking for your support!  Braintree Mayor Charles Kokoros is responsible for the Peterson Pool Project and the Petersen Trust Fund.  Demand that Mayor Kokoros:

(1) Stop any further expenditures from the Petersen Trust Fund

(2) Require that complete interior and exterior design plans for a National Federal of High School (NFHS)-qualifying swimming pool, with updated site plans, be publicly filed with the Braintree Town Council and relevant town departments for review and approval, along with full financing identified for the construction and operation of the Petersen Memorial swimming pool, consistent with the restrictions contained in Captain August Petersen's Trust.
