The Coronavirus has devastated the future for local community shops that will now have to trade shorter hours and with social distancing which will effect their takings for a considerable time. We, the local community of SW11 and surrounding areas, are concerned to hear that local landlords and more specifically landlords on the Northcote road, SW11, are not prepared to agree reasonable concessions on rent and this will close shops on this street that have traded here for many years and are greatly valued by the local community.

This is insanity. These shops will remain empty and in time you will have to pay business rates on them as the business rates holiday only applies to shops that are occupied. We the local community appeal to your better natures. Please don't let the Northcote road become an empty desolate street. Please respect the purpose of this street and how it serves the community. It benefits no one if these shops become empty and in the long run this makes no economic sense for yourselveS . We, the local people are concerned and are looking to you to step up.
