Amazon prides itself on being relentlessly focussed on customer satisfaction. Prior to July 2020, Amazon orders triggered email receipts with information about what you ordered, when it would likely arrive and the price. Since then Amazon email receipts have removed the information about what you ordered. There is a delivery date, a price and nothing else. 

While many petitions involve critical substantial issues, this petition concerns a minor annoyance. There were advantages to having order information in an email including allowing email search for items, easy receipts for reimbursement and compatibility of delivery tracking apps. You can no longer do these things and must engage in a multi-step process. 

Commentators such as John Gruber has noted that "[a]lmost certainly they’re doing this to thwart email-scraping data harvesters from obtaining information about Amazon sales." But this is our information as much as theirs. Amazon made this change in their interests and at the expense of their customers. Amazon has claimed this was a process of "simplification." Then they should at least give other options. 

Please, Amazon, bring back the old receipts!
