As the world slowly runs out of IPv4 addresses, the pressure to move to IPv6 is mounting. Reddit is a Top 5 social media site by usage, and while other large websites such as Facebook, Google, Instagram, and Netflix have all moved to IPv6 dual-stack support, Reddit has not. IPv6 provides benefits by reducing costly Network Address Translation, and restoring the end-to-end connectivity model of the Internet. I urge Reddit to support the newest standards and encourage the worldwide adoption of IPv6. By enabling it proactively and not waiting until the last moment, Reddit will help smooth the transition to IPv6 and increase the incentive for other ISPs and websites to do so as well.
