FOOTBALL WITHOUT FANS IS NOTHING.

We are, Against Modern Football. A group of match going fans that have been united from multiple clubs.

We strongly object to the idea of playing any of the remaining games of the English Football Season behind closed doors or in front of a very limited number of supporters.

But, we understand. We understand that the COVID-19 pandemic is unprecedented and like nothing in recent times. We understand our nations and other nations reasons for wanting to play out the season behind closed doors. Football is our sport, if it can play any part in helping people stay indoors and safe lives then it should do so, even if that is to the betrayal of what makes our game as great as it is. Fans. Us.

Football without fans is nothing.

Without fans present in the longer term though, there is no reason for football to be played, we are the only reason a football league even exists, without us there would be no stadiums, no cup finals, no celebrations, no passion, no MONEY and ultimately NO TV MONEY.

The only reason to play any of next season behind closed doors is to further line the pockets of those who stand to make a profit from the game that we love. A game that without us, doesn’t exist. 

So, with this in mind we are calling for the 2020/2021 season in England, to only start once it is safe for fans to be in stadiums. Especially Season Ticket Holders.

Anything else would be a slap in the face to all of the football supporters who live, breathe and die for their Clubs, fans who travel the length and breadth of the country to support them.

DO NOT SELL US OUT NOW.

As fans we have all suffered short-notice changes to kick off times and dates to suit TV schedules, many of us, having already paid for non refundable travel. This and our other core values, we will be fighting to address and rectify during the 2020/2021 season as quite simply, enough is enough.

There are some clubs who have still not refunded fans for games they are now not allowed to attend. It’s time the match going fan was treated with more respect by those who now run our game.

“As a football supporter, we are used to getting a kick in the private’s from the game. When we travel to watch our teams, we accept all that goes with it and being treated like animals! But through thick and thin, we move our work schedules, we travel long distances and we are there. The new proposal to finish the league without fans is a disgrace. I know lads and lasses who have barely missed a game in three decades, lads who have put weddings, birthdays and family events to one side to watch the shirts!
