John Forslund is the heart and soul of our team, and has been announcing for us since we first got to Raleigh in 1997. It would be impossible to imagine watching a Hurricanes game without Forslund and his iconic, “Hey Hey Whaddya Say!” call, which is why we need him back. I know times are tough right now and money is tight, but Forslund is simply not someone we can lose as a “Coronavirus Casualty”, as GM Don Waddell said.

Our goal here is to get enough petitions on this to get the Hurricanes management to notice how much WE care about the BEST announcer in the NHL staying with the Canes! If you are reading this, it doesn’t take long to just give this a quick sign, and you are doing a great justice. Once again, I understand that the Hurricanes likely want Forslund back, but there also may be a little bit of penny-pinching going on right now.

If you are in the Hurricanes management, realize how important it is to keep Forslund. Forget the money, he is equally important to this franchise as Rod Brind’amour, Sebastian Aho, and more! All we can hope for now is that this gets enough signatures to get recognized by the Canes’ front office, so if you love Forslund, PLEASE give this a sign and show the front office how much we care about him! -Canes.Prime
