The bandstand in Ammanford Park is a mess - surrounded by scaffolding and totally out of action in the midst of well kept greens and beautifully planted flower beds it lowers the tone of the whole space. This is to show the town's desire to have it made safe, restored and opened again for use. 

The application for planning was made on 24/10/2018 for 'PROPOSED REMOVAL OF EXISTING ASBESTOS ROOF SLATES AND REPLACE WITH NON-ASBESTOS EQUIVALENT. CLEANING, REINSTATEMENT, REPAIR AND REDECORATION WORKS' with a decision made on 28/03/2019 but no further course of action has been taken. That is other than to allocate the work to TRJ Ltd.

It's time to show the council how important this bandstand is, not just for the look of the park, but the opportunities it offers in having music and performances in a public space instead of a derelict structure left to rot until it's condemned.

All I want is for the plans that have been made and approved to be accepted and acted upon for the greater good of the Ammanford area.
