Enable full access to Camera2 API on every Samsung phone with Android 5.0+
Enable full access to Camera2 API on every Samsung phone with Android 5.0+
Why this petition matters
It has been many years since Google introduced Camera2 API with Android Lollipop (5.0). It was major advantage for mobile photo enthusiasts who required manual control over the various parameters of the camera like the exposure triangle and RAW photo capture.
Many OEMs have implemented it in their smartphones like Google, Asus, Poco, etc. Samsung also implemented it in every smartphone.
But unfortunately, Samsung has disabled it for all devices except the flagship range. It means it is sitting there in the firmware, but no third party apps can access it. Even the stock Samsung app doesn't use it to provide the Manual Exposure mode.
I highly request everyone to join me to convince Samsung to enable Camera2 API in all devices. For photo enthusiasts like me and every photographer, we know that mobile photography has advanced in an amazing way, and taking good photos should be the right of everybody.
