Save the Lansing Ignite

Save the Lansing Ignite
The Issue
One season. One season is all it seems we're going to get. One season. A single solitary season of great soccer in a startup league where our team - Lansing's team - finished second, qualified and hosted a playoff game and had the third-largest average attendance in league. Not too shabby for an inaugural season.
They were also a big part of the community. The players went out to local youth soccer practices. They hosted teams at their games, and held multiple camps, among many other things. In many ways - both on and off the field - they were what coaches and parents want their kids to strive for. Great athletes. Great people.
But, unless something changes it seems that's going to be the end of the story.
Let's fix that. Let's show the City of Lansing, Ignite owner Tom Dickson, the USL League One, and area economic powers that we want Ignite to stay. We need another go at it. And that just giving up after one season is a weak move. None of those power players would have wanted to team to quit on the field. Let's not let them quit on the team!
