Derbyshire County Council are looking to close their day centre provision in the district of Bolsover, for adults with learning disabilities and autism. Carter Lane Day Centre is one of these centres in Shirebrook, also Bolsover & Whitwell.

Families are already worried about the affects the cut to this vital service will have on their families and carers, the closure of the centre will hit the most vulnerable in our district.  Users will have to travel outside of the Bolsover District area to use other Derbyshire County Council Day Services or private providers.

Carter Lane Day Centre also offers the facility of “changing places”, which is open to the general public, we are asking for your support to sign the petition against this proposal and keep our Day Services open, the public consultation exercise seeking peoples views ends on the 19th June 2022
