A myriad of studies have confirmed that rubber bullets and certain other plastic non-lethal projectiles are FAR from being acceptable to use on large crowds and gatherings. Rubber bullets can cause severe, permanent damage to those who are hit by them. We’ve seen multiple people become incapacitated, bloodied, and even permanently blinded by their use, not just in Philadelphia, but across this country as these protests persist. Rubber bullets are also very inaccurate in nature as their structure can sometimes cause them to veer in unintended directions. This has resulted in innocent bystanders passing by and peaceful protesters becoming impacted by the projectiles and sustain severe injuries requiring immediate medical attention, even when they were not the intended targets. I am writing this to ask Mayor Jim Kenney and the municipal government of Philadelphia to take a step towards progress for a safer city. Please sign and help deliver this message! Source below:
