Approve Lachlan's Square Village Pharmacy to Supply PBS Medicines to the Local Community
Approve Lachlan's Square Village Pharmacy to Supply PBS Medicines to the Local Community
Why this petition matters
The Federal Minister for Health, Greg Hunt, decided that it was not in the local community's interest in approving Lachlan's Square Village Pharmacy to supply medicines subsidised by Medicare (i.e. the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme).
To quote the Ministers decision "It may be considered unreasonable for the residents of the North Ryde Station Precinct to travel approximately 1.5 to 2km by road to the nearest three approved pharmacies... [however] I considered that the existence of ten approved pharmacies within approximately 5km of the proposed premises is such that the community already has reasonable access to PBS medicines".
If you believe that your local community needs a PBS pharmacy, and you consider it unreasonable to have to travel up to 5km to access a pharmacy for your essential medicines, then please sign this petition.
