We demand that government fully funds all COVID-19 spending by Local Authorities & does not implement austerity measures to pay for this crisis.

Local authorities have had years of under-funding, job losses and services cuts, are using up their financial reserves and some face bankruptcy.  

There has been a huge increase in people needing support because of the wide-ranging social, health and economic impacts of the continuing crisis. 

Many in government have ignored COVID-19 restrictions, MP’s have awarded themselves a huge pay rise and refused to pay for school dinners for kids during holidays. 

Yet we are facing further public sector cuts, tax rises for ordinary people and further attacks on our pensions and exit payments. This has to stop!
