Why this petition matters

Started by Ari Keys
Conan Exiles, a role-playing game in which the player is tasked with surviving in a hostile world, features non-sexualized nudity as an aspect of the game intended to immerse the player. However, full nudity has not been made available in all versions of the game, such as in regions under the ESRB rating system (North America, Mexico, etc.). The goal of this petition is to equalize the playerbase across ESRB, PEGI, and USK regions.

The ban on full nudity in Conan Exiles is inconsistent with other M-rated games that feature full frontal nudity, such as Grand Theft Auto 5. Excluding developers like Rockstar from nudity restrictions puts smaller studios at a disadvantage. Additionally, the continual exclusion of full nudity in Conan Exiles will set a precedent for future titles, such as the much anticipated Cyberpunk 2077, which is to include nudity as part of the character creation process.

Note: The full-featured version of Conan Exiles is available unrated on PC in many regions. Importing a European version is also possible. However, many players only have access a console or are unable to import. The goal of this petition is to make the full version of Conan Exiles more accessible. Unfortunately, lifting the ban in some regions, like Japan, would require a legal and cultural effort beyond the scope of this internet petition.

To solve this issue the ESRB must re-evaluate the full-featured version of Conan Exiles and agree to keep its M-rating.

Funcom must make an honest effort to resubmit Conan Exiles for a rating.

Sony and Microsoft may also want to clarify their content policy and ensure consistency between large and small developers.

In order to get the attention of those in power, this petition must spread far and wide among game-related social media and gaming news sites. If you're in favor of giving developers free expression, including incorporating representations of the human body into their games, please consider sharing this petition.
