We the students of Birmingham University demand three things from the University.

1. 45% rent cuts for all students whether they are in or out of the accommodation 
2. The ability to cancel our accommodation contracts with no extra fees or disputes
3. Leniency on grades and assessments 

As we are in a pandemic and now in another lockdown, We students as a collective are angry, distressed and upset by the fact we have no choice but to pay £9250 for online and limited lectures. The government refuses to lower this number and therefore we demand a change in accommodation and rent policies. Many individuals have been unable to go home to families, unable to come back to Birmingham and unable to deal with the stress and pressure of online lessons. Therefore we demand a change in rent to reduce these pressures. It is a pandemic. The world is suffering yet us university students are being denied the leniency in which we deserve. The high rent prices during this pandemic are unjust and unfair. We want change. We deserve change. We won’t settle for less.
