The St. Mary’s county commissioners are holding a public hearing Dec. 3 at 6:30 pm. The hearing is in regards to a proposed noise ordinance that will open up county residents, land owners and business owners to extreme and oppressive noise restriction requirements. The noise ordinance as written would make almost any noise louder than the average conversation illegal.  This would directly impact the lifestyle, liberty and personal freedoms of county residents. Outdoor music, target shooting, livestock, hunting, construction, automotive repair, and many other parts of day to day life here in our county would be in violation of this new ordinance. Violators would be subject to fines with each day being considered a new violation.  Below is a link to the public hearing notice and proposed ordinance.  Sign this petition then show up 12/3/19 630pm to be heard.
