This petition was written by my eleven year old daughter, Gianna Marie. 

     When I first saw factory farming it changed my life, I am 11 years old and I remembered something about it, so I searched it up and read an article. That was probably the worst article out there because it made me cry for an hour straight. Factory Farming is a horrible thing and I really wanted to do something so I made this petition, and I will tell you why you should sign this petition. This petition is to stop factory farming and animal cruelty. Factory farming is a indoor facility containing livestock in close confined spaces then later goes to the slaughter house and then your dinner plate. It may seem okay or not that bad but some things you might have not known is that they keep animals indoors and they never see sunlight in their lives. In fact, the only time they ever see sunlight is when they are in the trucks going to the slaughter house. In this essay, I will explain the life of the most popular animals that go into these farms and what these company owners don't provide for them. Lets start with the first part of their life. First, they get shots and get shipped to the Factory farms, but the ones that are weak or aren't as healthy get killed and put into the trash. Next, they live in these big farms that are indoors and don't have windows, and they get put into these tiny stalls with no room to move, or flap their wings, or walk around or to turn there heads. Imagine your dog or cat staying in their crate for their whole life without playing or seeing sunlight or nature. These animals don't grow up in natural conditions like living in the wild or on a normal farm with a happy life. The chickens usually get their feathers plucked off which is really painful.  For cows, the female ones get artificially inseminated, then get their milk that is for their baby taken away and the male baby cows get killed for veal. Once the cows stop producing milk,  they get that whole process again. The pigs get thrown away without a sweat if they are not fat enough at birth, without veterinary care. Weak chickens get smashed with clubs or suffocated. And ducks get fed unnaturally by having a tube going to their stomach with food going throw it.   Two-thirds of animals that are at the grocery store are from a factory farm. These animals go through torture then die and this repeats for their young and the next generations. If this continues we are looking at possibly mutations to these animals far into the future but again I don't know for sure. Also, more children and adults being devastated about these animals that leads to stress and anxiety. And just billions of animals dying without happiness once in their life, literately, is not fair and is cruel.  But if we change our ways to normal farming where  animals are outside or in barns for part of the time, have veterinary care, and live a happy life and until there an adult, they are allowed to be food as long as its a happy life and a natural one. I'm not asking you to go vegan or vegetarian but to help out a little to better the lives of these animals and change the world. So please help me end Factory Farming for the better! Please sign the petition for change.
