A Better End for G4 My Little Pony
A Better End for G4 My Little Pony
Why this petition matters
The Generation 4 My Little Pony media franchise did not get a conclusion that measured up to its own long-held standards. The ninth and final season of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic was fraught with glaring contrivances and inconsistencies that willfully ignore the past eight years and seasons' worth of established lore, in-universe mechanics and, most importantly, characterization. Meanwhile, the My Little Pony: Equestria Girls spin-off was abruptly cancelled before receiving a definite series finale of its own.
This petition is but one means for the Save My Little Pony fan campaign to achieve its goal of persuading Hasbro and their partner companies to give G4 MLP a more satisfactory conclusion. This would involve:
- Officially revising several key events of Season 9 of Friendship is Magic, mostly in regards to its main story arc and inconsistencies found throughout the season. All related media (comics, games, books, apps, etc.) would also be revised and updated accordingly.
- Continuing and properly concluding Equestria Girls. This would require a final special to serve as a series finale at the minimum, but preferably include additional specials and a third digital season.
If possible, outlines for this new content will be provided for Hasbro by members of Save MLP, who will also focus test what they produce to ensure quality control. Unused ideas created by the series' staff that never got beyond the drawing board will also be explored. Concurrently, the G4/FiM/EG toylines will be revived to satisfy nostalgic consumers, whose patronage will ensure this endeavor is cost-effective for Hasbro in the long term.
Should this campaign succeed, it will give G4 an ending that will meet it standards and be appealing to all fans. It may even inspire the creation of campaigns to have other poorly-made series finales rewritten. Should it fail, however, the quality, memory and legacy of G4 and MLP itself will be forever besmirched and defined by poor writing and executive decisions. That cannot be allowed to happen.
