We’re witnessing a dark cloud of war hovering in the skies of the Horn of Africa especially in Ethiopia and Eritrea. The peoples of the region have endured natural and man-made disaster and as though that wasn’t enough they are now being dragged into another senseless war that has a potential to wreak havoc in the region. Therefore, we are calling upon the broader international community comprising of civil organizations, professionals, artists, religious leaders, intellectuals, celebrities and concerned individuals, etc. to join hands with us as we call for the following petition:

1. The Federal Government of Ethiopia and the Tigray regional government to cease all hostilities, instead they should and must resolve their differences through dialogue and peaceful means.

2. All national media outlets that are owned and operated privately or by regional and federal government and the state of Eritrea to refrain from making any inflammatory and hate inciting ethno-nationalist discriminatory discourses. Instead, we appeal to all media outlets to report objectively and to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of a true and professional journalism.

3. We oppose and condemn all forms of oppression, ethnic/and or religious based violence by anyone against anyone and anywhere.

4. We call for the State of Eritrea and Federal Republic of Ethiopia to abide by all international legal and diplomatic norms and to refrain from interfering in each other’s internal domestic affairs and instead to work towards peace and stability in the region.

5. We call upon UNHCR to work with Ethiopian Federal Government in securing the safety and wellbeing of Eritreans, who are scattered all across Ethiopian refugee camps. In particular, we call their attention to the plight of Eritrean refugees, who have been granted protection by the Tigray regional government, to ensure that their basic human needs are met.

6. We call upon the PM of Ethiopia Dr. Abiy Ahmed to use his Nobel Peace laureate Prize to be a role model and exemplary of Peace both in Ethiopia and in the Horn region through his actions and policies.

7. We call upon the nationals of both Ethiopia and Eritrea, who reside both inside and outside their respective countries, to be ambassadors and advocates for peace

ፍልልያት ብልዝብን ብሰላማዊ መገድን ጥራይ ክፈትሕዎ ንጽውዕ።

2. ብፈደራላዊ መንግስቲ ኢትዮጵያ: ክልላዊ መንግስታት ኢትዮጵያ: መንግስቲ ኤርትራን ከምኡ’ውን
ብተቓወምቲ ሓይሊታትን ካለኦትን ዝውነኑ መራኸቢ ብዙሓን: ካብ ጽልእን ወገንን ወጺኦም ኣብ ሰላማዊን
ሞያዊን ሓላፍነት ብዘለዎ መንገዲ ክሰርሑ ንላቦ።

3. ብዝኾነ ይኹን ወገን ኣብ ልዕሊ ዝኾነ ካልእ ዓሌት: ብሄርን ሃይማኖትን ዘተኮረ ጸለመን መጥቃዕን ብቕጽበት
ደው ክብል።

4. ካብ ዞባዊን ዓለም ለኻዊን ዲፖሎማስያዊን ሕጋዊን ኣገባባት ወጻኢ: እዘን ሃገራት ካብ ሕድሕድ ኢድ
ኣእታዉነት ክቑጠባ ንጽውዕ።

5. ትካል ውድብ ሕቡራት ሃገራት ጉዳይ ስደተኛታት: ምስ መንግስቲ ኢትዮጵያ ብምትሕብባር ንኤርትራውያን
ካለኦትን ስደተኛታት ብዘይ ሌላ ጉሌላ: ግልጹነትን ተሓታትነትን ብዘለዎ መንገዲ ሕጋዊ ናይ ዕቑባ ከለላ: ሰብኣዊ
ቆላሕታን መስርሕን ክገበረሎም።

6. ቀ/ሚ ዶ/ር ኣቢይ ነቲ ዝተዋህቦም ናይ ሰላም ኖቤል ሽልማትን ዝናን ዓቂቦም ኣብ ኢትዮጵያን ቀርኒ ኣፍሪቃ
ብሓፈሻ ሰላም ኣብ ምውሓስ ኣብነት ክኾኑን ክጽዕቱን ንላቦ።

7. ኣብ ውሽጥን ወጻኢን እንነብር ዜጋታት ኢትዮጵያን ኤርትራን ኣምባሳደራት ሰላም ክንከዉን ጻውዒትና
ነቕርብ።

ውግዘት ለጦርነት፤ ጥሪ ለሰላም

በምስራቅ አፍሪቃ አካባቢ እንደሃገር ስናየው ኢትዮጵያና ኤርትራ በክልል ደረጃ ደግሞ በመአከላዊ መንግስትና በትግራይ ክልልን መካከል ከባድ ጦርነት አጥልቷል :: በአካባቢው ቀደም ሲል ጦርነትና የተፈጥሮ አደጋ ያስከተለበው ቁስሉ ሳይድን እነሆ ደግሞ አሁን ወደሌላ አጥፊ ጦርንት ለመግባት ተዘጋጅቷል :: አሁን የተፈጠረውን ውጥረት የአለም ማህበርሰብና መንግስታት ; የሲቪክና ሙያ ማህበራት ; የሃማኖት መሪዎችና ይመለከተናል የሚሉ ታዋቂ ግለሰቦች ይደርሳቸው ዘንድ የሚከተለውን ባለ ሰባት ነጥብ ፒቲሽን ማስተላለፍ እንሻለን::

1. በፌደራል መንግሥትና በትግራይ ክልላዊ መንግስት መካከል የተለኮሰው ጦርነት ያለምንም ቅድመ ሁኔታ በቅፅበት እንዲቆምና ልዮነቶቻቸውን በሰላማዊ መንገድ እንዲፈታ ;

2. በኢትዮጵያ ፈደራል መንግስት ; በኤርትራ መንግስትና በክልል መንግስታትና በተቃዋሚ ፓርቲዎች ይዞታነት የሚመሩየመገናኛ ብዙሃን አውታሮች ከጠብ አጫሪ ስርጭት ታቅበው የመስኩ ሙያዊ ሥነምግባር እንዲያከብሩ ;

3. በማንኛውም አይነት መንገድ ብሄርና ዘር ተኮር እንዲሁም እምነትና ሃይማኖ ተኮር የሥም ማጥፋትና ጥላሸት ከመቀባት እንዲገቱ ጥሪአችንን እናቀርባለን ::

4.ከአካባቢያዊና ዓለም አቀፋዊ ዲፕሎማሲያዊና ህጋዊ አግባብ ባፈነገጠ መልኩ ሃገራት ከድንበር ተሻጋሪ ጣልቃ ገብነት እንዲታቀቡ ;

5.በተባበሩት መንግሥታት ድርጅት የስደተኞች ጉዳይ ኮሚሽን ; ሥደተኞች ያለአድልዎና ተገቢ ባልሆነ የስደተኞች አስተዳደር እራሱን ነፃ በማድረግ ;ስደተኞቹን በማስተናገዱ ረገድ ግልፅነትና ህጋዊ መሰረት ባለው አግባብ እንዲያስተናግዳቸው ;

6. ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር አብይ ቀደም ሲል የተበረከተላቸው የሰላም ኖቬል ሽልማትን በሚመጥን መልኩ በአፍሪቃ ቀንድ ብሎም በኢትዮጵያ የሰላም ዋስትና ይጠበቅ ዘንድ አበክረው ሊለሩ ይገባል ;

7. በውጭና በሃገርን በሃገር ውስጥ የምንኖር የኢትዮጵያና የኤርትራ ዜጎች የሰላም አምባሳደሮች በመሆን ሃገሮቻችንን እንድናገለግል ጥሪአችንን እናስተላልፋለን ::
