Many small businesses in Wake County have been side blinded by COVID-19, many have seen their revenue decreased by double digit margins, and others have been ordered by Governor Cooper to stay at home. Many of these small businesses have applied for SBA Loans, only to be ignored or denied due to the nature of their business.

On Monday May 4th at 5:00p.m. the Wake County Board of Commissioners will be discussing small business loans and small business grants.

One of the key discussions will be whether Wake County gives loans or grants, or both. Commissioner Jessica Holmes is advocating for small business grants particularly for small businesses who may not be able to afford to pay back a loan.
