DON’T BLAME THE BODY, BLAME THE ACTIONS.

My name is Catarina Amaral and I’ve started this petition to make Public Sexual Harassment a criminal offence in the United Kingdom.

I’ve been grabbed, pushed, pulled, catcalled, you name it! And I’ve also been to Police Stations where they didn’t take notes or filed any paperwork regarding my urge to press charges against these men. Simply told me to go home.

 

People will tell you to “dress discreetly”; “don’t show too much skin”; “don’t PROVOKE THEM”. ENOUGH!

She/He/They � should always feel safe on the streets. Both day and night.

However that’s not the case for 60% of the UK population who allegedly faces street harassment on a daily basis.

Public sexual harassment makes you feel objectified.

Public sexual harassment makes you feel powerless.

Public sexual harassment makes you feel WORTHLESS.

How amazing would it be to create a LAW that keeps people SAFE in their own street, city, country?

Public Street Harassment is now illegal in Portugal, Belgium and France.
