If a fire starts, please put it out!
If a fire starts, please put it out!
Why this petition matters
It is fire season in Southern Oregon 2020. It’s painful to think what might happen if we have another summer dominated by wildfire and smoke like we experienced in 2018, or like Australia and Alaska in 2019. With severe drought conditions this year we need to do everything possible to help our communities, our economy, our health, and our safety…. again.
Though we made it through 2019 with just a few days of smoke in the Rogue Valley, this is a different year, a year preceded by effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, a year in which we are already in emergency drought conditions.
Our plea is simple: “If a fire starts, put it out.”
Please sign our petition to support the Jackson County Commissioners’ Proclamation 17-19.
With your voice we can influence those with the power to protect us from the devastating effects of wildfires and smoke.
The County is not soliciting money as part of this campaign. Any solicitations presented on the petition website are not endorsed by Jackson County.
