Why this petition matters

State Rep. Hardy Billington, a Republican from Poplar Bluff, filed House Bill 1200 on Friday, February 19, to make January 12 of each year as 'Rush Limbaugh Day' in Missouri. Limbaugh, born in Cape Girardeau, MO, spent decades fanning racist, homophobic, and other hateful rhetoric from his radio show.

Among some of the more disgusting bile spewed from his pedestal, he had an "AIDS Update" segment that mocked the deaths of gay people, called for "stupid and unskilled Mexicans [to do] the unskilled jobs that take absolutely no knowledge whatsoever to do," called President Obama's economic plan "forced reparations", claimed that "feminism was established so as to allow unattractive women access to the mainstream of society," said the NFL "all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons," suggested James Earl Ray (the confessed assassin of MLK) deserved the posthumous Medal of Honor... these are all direct quotes. And there are countless more.

The State of Missouri is better than this, we do NOT need to honor this bigoted shock-jock for his years of vile broadcast. Please, help us tell our State Representatives that this bill needs to be stopped.
