The company 'Skinny Jab', have marketed a fast acting, dangerous weight loss product which is readily available and potentially life threatening. At £250 a month (with a 3-4 week or repeat, longstanding plan), a daily injection containing liraglutide (a weight loss suppressant) promises a weight loss of 6-7kg. 50% of participants complained of gastric distress, with other common side effects being dizziness, headaches, increased risk of infection, skin reactions and vomiting. Uncommon side effects include: pancreatitis (swollen pancreas), renal impairment (kidney issues) and an increased heart rate. 

This medication was originally aimed at individuals with type 2 diabetes or those with higher body masses. With this in mind, the company sells these products to people of all sizes (and even includes them in their marketing campaigns). Top doctors have called on social media companies to stop the promotion of diet pills/ appetite suppressants to avoid harming adults and young people's physical and mental health, yet these products are still available online and in major health stores.
