First, I'd like to wholeheartedly thank The Coalition for keeping the spirit of the Gears of War franchise alive over the last 5 years, a job well done! Before reading, please keep in mind that every person signing this petition agrees on the information below.

Unfortunately, as of March 31, 2020, The Coalition, developer of Gears 5, decided WITHOUT the community's consent, to remove Execution from the ranked playlist. Not only was Execution the Gears of War franchise's main competitive game mode from Gears 1-Gears UE (OVER EIGHT YEARS), Execution is beloved by OG Gears players both at the competitive and enthusiast level.

MANY players enjoy EXECUTION only...including myself. The other game modes have too many casual players that don't care about Gears at all. The players that I know (and I know MANY) play Execution only and collectively, have spent THOUSANDS of dollars on Gears 5 DLC alone (these are Execution ONLY players).

What The Coalition is doing is alienating their community into a pool of casual players who don't spend nearly as much time OR money playing Gears. While I do understand that Execution might be one of the least played game types, the concept of totally eliminating a mode almost EXCLUSIVELY played by your MOST PASSIONATE players is slap to the face.

This hurts, it really does...the Execution/hardcore Gears fanatics are REALLY upset by this. Personally, I know many people who are not going be playing Gears at all anymore and said that they would rather play the newest battle royale game instead (to be respectful, I won't name that game here). As for myself, I really don't have much of a desire to play anymore because Execution is the only game mode that gives me an adrenaline rush.

Respectfully, what we, the Execution community propose is this:

- Please bring back Execution instead of forcing us out of playing the Gears of War franchise...as a community, we've spent so much money on DLC, that should count for something.

- You already removed Guardian and 2v2 Gnashers...so that in itself, would enlarge the player pool for Execution, Escalation, KOTH and TDM.

- On a side note: consider implementing Competitive settings, not core, for ALL RANKED game modes. Quickplay and experimental game modes are suitable for core settings, not ranked. Ranked is a place where you hone your craft and smash the opposition, not a place for forgiving settings like aim assist.

Again, please understand that EVERY signature on this petition are not only respectfully frustrated with Execution being removed -- but we feel that we are being shoved to side without consideration for our passion and dedication for the Gears of War franchise.

The Coalition, you've truly done an amazing job with the Gears franchise and we know that many people in the community give you a lot of crap. We are not doing this to put your company down...we KNOW you've put your blood sweat and tears into Gears. Similarly, we've put our blood sweat and tears into this game too. The intent of this petition is only to plead our case with you for our favorite video game.
