Help us bring democratic education to Cork! A democratic school is built on the foundations of play and the freedom to learn and grow at the child’s own pace. This means that there is no anxiety induced by a top down curriculum, but rather a democratically run community. We have evidence that such a radically different approach works well, producing happy, mature, well-educated, creative and responsible graduates. Sign our petition to help us reach our short-term objectives, locate a venue to meet our needs, and open our school in 2021!

We know there is demand for this model of education in Cork City and we need your solidarity and support to bring this forward to local officials. Our immediate goal is to find a suitable venue.  For us, this means:

• a suitable space where we can gather communally
• sufficient green space to allow our students some access to nature and exploration
• some smaller multi-purpose rooms for more isolated activities  

*Our ideal venue need not look like a traditional school building. We are flexible and interested in considering whatever might be available*

We put forward  this petition as a way to raise awareness and interest, and to secure support among local leaders. We are calling for any official support in this search for a venue. The primary objective of this campaign is to use the awareness and the energy created by YOU to get the attention of those in a position to help us find this venue!
