No Compulsory Redundancies at Bradford College
No Compulsory Redundancies at Bradford College
Why this petition matters
Bradford College University and College Union have repeatedly requested, during collective consultation, that the executive members demonstrate leadership and recommend to the Remuneration Committee that the members of the
executive and senior managers reduce their salaries to a sum equal to that of an average salary at BradfordCollege . This would save money which could contribute to the mitigation of redundancies (Trades Union & Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1997).
All areas of the college are in scope for redundancies: senior management has been restructured, English and maths is to be devolved (saving 150-160K?) lecturers and support staff will lose their jobs, courses will be cut and the diverse working class communities of Bradford will again be impacted and yet our executive
is untouched.
While we all require a fair pay rise in line with UCU's national pay claim, we the undersigned call on the executive to recommend to the Remuneration Committee a pay cut for themselves and the senior management team in line with an average salary at Bradford College.
