Let Caster Semenya run #HandsoffCaster
Let Caster Semenya run #HandsoffCaster
Why this petition matters
Can you imagine being an Olympic champion and not being allowed to do what you most love and do best, run?
This is what is happening to Caster Semenya, the South African athlete and two-times Olympic 800m champion. The International Association of Athletic Federations (IAAF) wants to apply a new rule that would prevent female athletes with naturally high testosterone levels to run on certain distances unless they take medication to reduce those levels. It’s the same as being forbidden to run because you are too tall, or too short, or have a strong heart. Caster does not decide or control her testosterone levels, she did not choose to be who she is.
Let us support our sister: Caster is currently appealing the decision at the Court of Arbitration for Sport. I urge you to sign and share this petition to show our support and save athletes like Caster from undergoing such unpleasant procedures on matters beyond their control.
Let’s help stop this IAAF ruling and support female athletes like Caster. Sign and share this petition now. #handsoffcaster
