Imagine a world without elephants, lions, rhinos, zebras, cheetahs, leopards or any animal for that matter. Imagine the world without the sounds of birds chirping. Imagine the world without any animals at all. In the not too distant future one sadly won't have to imagine it as it will be our planet if we do not take action to stop it. President Trump vowed not to lift the ban on big game trophy imports, yet he did. For whatever reason, the President went back on his thinking that the hunting of elephants was a horror show and he lifted the ban on big game trophy imports. The ban must be reinstated. It must be reinstated as elephant numbers have dropped by 62% over the last decade. It is estimated that some 100 elephants are killed per day. Many times elephants killed have babies that greatly depend on their mums. Many times, orphaned elephants do not survive as the pain of losing their moms is all too great. The elephant population has dropped to 400,000 . It was once in the millions. Rhinos are even more critically endangered as the rhino population has dropped to less than 30,000. At the start of the 20th century the rhino population was over 500,000. Lions could well be extinct by the year 2050. Today giraffes are also endangered with fewer than 100,000 in the wild. 

    I could go on and list every animal on the planet, but I won't. Humanity is killing wildlife which our maker placed here on this earth not to kill, but to live alongside and protect. While hunters will say the money from their hunting goes towards conservation and to the people in need in the countries in which hunting takes place, the fact is that's just not true. Many countries in Africa are corrupt and the money never goes to those in need nor for the conservation of animals critically endangered. The president's lifting the ban on big game trophy hunting as made the situation worse for the animals as other countries have followed the president's lead as they have too lifted their bans on big game trophy hunting as well. With that being said, I beg of you all to sign and share this petition to urge President Trump to reinstate the ban on big game trophy hunting. The fact is, if we do not take action now we will be the generation that allowed our planet to one day be a planet without wild animals. We may not be able to stop the extinction of some species of animals as it may already be too late. Several of species of animals have already been lost. However, we can at least take action and try to save the species of animals now left on this great planet. If we fail to take action we will one day have to look at our grandchildren and say we were the ones that caused the planet to be void of all living things other than ourselves.
