Why this petition matters

Started by Emily Travis

Wandsworth only has 7% tree coverage, half the % of the national average. We want Wandsworth to match and surpass the national tree average!

Trees are an essential requirement for clean air!

Lots of small business’ have introduced biodegradable plastic packaging but Wandsworth doesn’t have the facilities to compost it. We need Wandsworth to invest in this facility or their efforts are futile.

1. Wandsworth needs to plant more trees (at least doubling the current quota)

2. Wandsworth needs to invest in necessary equipment to compost biodegradable packaging (for example biowaste recycling).

These are just 2 key things needed to increase the boroughs green efforts as Wandsworth is currently one of the least environmentally friendly boroughs in the UK!
